PKF in Tasmania
PKF in Tasmania is a full member firm of the PKF Australia and PKF International family of accounting firms.
As part of a group of independently owned practices, the PKF firms share resources and contribute to national projects but retain local autonomy. PKF firms are wholly owned by the local partners who are free to make all strategic, operational and employment decisions.
For the Hobart office, this means that extensive resources are available through the national and international network and technical standards are advised and monitored through a national review system. It also means that operational and strategic decisions are made locally, having regard to local conditions.
The Hobart office is entirely cloud-based in all applications with a variety of leading-edge systems.
PKF Clients
Our client base is small to medium business. We assist them in compiling their financial information by implementing and monitoring their accounting systems.
We use their financial reports to ensure they meet their reporting obligations to the government, financiers and other stakeholders.
These financial statements are the starting point for the other services we provide. Profits have consequences for income tax so ascertaining and managing clients' tax liabilities is one of the more important tasks they perceive we perform.
From our perspective, profitability is one of the scorecards of business performance and working with clients to improve their profit, liquidity and overall wealth is one of our major roles.
Financial reports are also used as the basis of presentations made to financiers, as guides to business valuation for business acquisition or sale.
We also provide financial planning services to our clients in conjunction with licensed planners and have a growing SMSF superannuation practice. This division supports clients wishing to take more control of their wealth accumulation and retirement planning. We work with other professionals to provide services to their clients, such as our work with solicitors in litigation support service which involves valuation, investigation of financial reports and assessment of economic losses.
